Happy Birthday Ellie!

Early this morning, the girls congregated in Omi's apartment to begin celebrating Ellie's 2nd Birthday! Ellie unwrapped one of her presents and the girls helped Mommy to assemble it. Thanks Mommy!!!

Later today, we will be traveling to The Billy Graham Library, where the girls will sleigh ride, watch the live nativity, hear the Christmas Carolers, and see all of the beautiful decorations before we have dinner at Ellie's choice of restaurants. It will probably be ChuckeeCheese - LOL!

SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope this is the beginning of a snow-filled Winter for North Carolina. We haven't had snow like this in a really long time. Brienna and Ellie just couldn't be contained last night, so we got out long after dark and while it was still falling.

We woke up this morning to about 12 inches of the beautiful stuff!! They've made great plans for the day - sledding, snow cream, building a gingerbread train, and going to the library. Going to the library??? Where did that come from?? I think we'll just stay put and enjoy the snow.

Kids' Korner - Week of November 22nd

Family Focus:
This year seems so different for me than any other year. I'm not sure why, but God's been testing me these last several weeks. Between Mom's illness, our kitchen turned upside down since before Labor Day weekend, and personal family losses...this year has drastically changed my viewpoint.

Brienna's News:
Brienna has taken my breathe away with her learning abilities. She's recognizes places we go...a couple blocks from teh house, she says "We're going home, Mommy!" She knows our church, MeMaw's house in Landis, and my office.

She's also learned to read - well sort of. She made a book in play school before she and Ellie were taken out at the end of summer. Today, she still sits down with the book and "reads" it to me. "Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see? I see a red bird looking at me." There are about 13 pages and she's got them all memorized.

Ellie's News:
Ellie is right in toe with her big sister. Everywhere they go, they play together VERY well. Ellie loves to pick out movies, play on her letter pad, look at books (pretending to read). She's even gotten into babydolls. That child can turn ANYTHING into a babydoll! LOL

Her vocabulary is just way out there - she's learned alot from her sister. And when you tell her she can't do something - watch out! She'll tell "Yes, I can" and prove you wrong!
